A picture of Hell
Then the son of God, Jesus himself, gives us a vivid picture of Hell in his own words in the book of Luke in the sixteenth chapter and verses twenty-three and twenty-four. Luke 16:23-24. And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. (24) And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. Many people believe this story to be only an allegory. When Jesus was speaking an allegory or in a parable, he would say, “a certain man,” or a certain king” etc. But in this instance he gives us the name of Lazarus, and he gives us an address: “at the gate of the rich man.”
To avoid going to the place where the rich man ended, don’t take the same highway he used. He chose to travel Broadway Highway, don’t go down Broadway Highway because it has a dead-end which is Hell. My suggestion is for you to use the highway called “The way of holiness.”
